I saw a really clean stock red 2G GS-T today. I was shocked that it still had both door handles intact.

I broke the driver’ s door handle on my ‘95 Talon tsi awd about 7 miles after the bumper to bumper warranty ran out. I was over on miles but not time. I was kinda pissed that the dealer wouldn’t cover it, as a door handle isn’t REALLY the sort of thing that wears out from mileage.
And that’s why FCA can suck a bag of dicks. I know that Mitsubishi built it but Chrysler put their logo on it and their dealer network serviced it, and I never once had a good experience w/ the dealer.
My door handle broke off in my hand on a date, and then f
or several more
early months of dating my now-wife, I’d let her into the car on the passenger side and then she’d open my door from inside.
I really liked that car . I drove it for almost 9 years.

Wait, what the F does FCA have to do with a 24 year old DSM?
FCA didn’t even exist until 2014?!?!

It was pre-Daimler Chrysler too, and if that was still a thing, they could also suck a bag of dicks. Since Daimler had the smarts to cut Chrysler loose after a few years , I’m inclined to like them MORE now.

Since Daimler had the smarts to cut Chrysler loose after a few years
After taking them for everything they had and leaving them with nothing.
All in all it just annoys the hell out of me when people hate on FCA for things that happened long before FCA was even a twinkle in someone’s eye.
The Eclipses of the era were shit because Mitsu was cheap at the time, not because Chrysler did anything to make them worse, they were just cheap econoboxes.

My beef with Chrysler is not product related, it’s service related. Every interaction I had w/ a dealer or with the mothership when trying to resolve a dealership experience was bad. I was in my 20s at the time and my Talon was my first new car, so they burned me for life. Between Mrs. Shoe Pilot and me , we ’ve purchased 8 new cars since then.
Also, my dad owned a Fiat when I was growing up and it was fucking terrible, so I have a basis for disliking the F side of FCA as well.

So why hate the brand thanks to crappy dealers in your area?
Or why hate FCA for DSM’s wrongdoing in handling the crappy dealers?
I’m just trying to wrap my head around why something started in 2014 is getting hate for something that happened from a different conglomerate almost 20 years earlier?
It’s like buying a WRX and hating Toyota when it turns out to be a POS.
